The Deepfake Deception: How an AI Vitalik is Draining Millions

1. The High-Trust Setup The attackers buy or hack high-authority YouTube channels. Because the channel has a “Verified” tick and 500k+ subscribers, YouTube’s algorithm pushes the stream to the front page.

2. The AI Lure They use advanced Deepfake software to generate a video of Vitalik. The AI voice modulation is terrifyingly accurate, trained on hundreds of hours of his actual speeches.

• The Pitch: “To celebrate the roadmap update, we are doubling all ETH sent to the contribution address.”

3. The Social Proof (The Psychological Trap) If you look at the live chat, you see thousands of messages:

“Just got my 10 ETH back! Thanks Vitalik!” “This is legit, transaction confirmed in 2 mins.”
