🚨 Security Alert: The Truebit Protocol Hack
Target: Ethereum DeFi Users
⚠️ The Incident: Truebit, a major verification protocol on Ethereum, was exploited late yesterday for approximately $26 Million (8,535 ETH). This is the first major “Infrastructure Hack” of 2026.
☠️ The Attack:
- The Vector: The attacker found a vulnerability in Truebit’s smart contract that allowed them to trick the system into “verifying” false tasks.
- The Drain: This allowed them to withdraw funds from the protocol’s treasury without authorization
- The Risk: If you hold TRU tokens or have deposited assets into Truebit-integrated pools, your funds may be devalued or frozen.
🛡️ ShieldGuard Rule:
- Revoke Approvals: If you have ever interacted with Truebit, go to Revoke.cash immediately and revoke all permissions for the Truebit contract to prevent further draining.
- Stay Liquid: Avoid locking funds in “verification” protocols until a post-mortem audit is released
